Daniel M. Keane, Esquire is an Associate with the Law Office of Williams and Scheetz.
Dan’s main areas of practice include family law, personal injury, criminal defense, workers’ compensation, civil litigation, small business formation and contract law. Dan regularly appears in court to represent clients in divorce, custody and support matters and to defend clients against DUI charges.
Dan joined the firm after spending the previous seven years in the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office where he served as an Assistant District Attorney until being promoted to the level of Chief Deputy District Attorney. While in the DA’s Office, Dan prosecuted more than 1000 DUI cases and personally argued before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Dan was one of only five trial coordinators during his time in the DA’s Office and prosecuted homicide by vehicle and murder cases. Dan also served as the Chief of Narcotics Prosecutions for several years where he oversaw the prosecution of every drug related crime in Bucks County.
Dan’s legal experience also includes working with Neighborhood Legal Services, where he gained valuable experience handling landlord/tenant and bankruptcy claims, and the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted preliminary hearings. While in law school, Dan spent his final year counseling clients in custody and support matters and drafting wills and estate documents.
Dan is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law with an emphasis in litigation, and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a major in political science and minors in communications and history. Dan previously served on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County.
Dan is a member in good standing of the Bucks County Bar Association and is currently serving as the Vice Chair / Chair-Elect of the Young Lawyers Division which includes coordinating the Bucks County Division of the state-wide Pennsylvania Bar Association Mock Trial Competition. Dan also serves in the Family Law Section, Workers’ Compensation Section and Civil Litigation Section of the bar association.
Dan is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of New Jersey and United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Dan has appeared in matters before the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas, Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia Municipal Court, Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, Superior Court of Pennsylvania and United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
